The wait is over.  The Awkward Photo Contest is here.   You are dying to read on, so just do it….

Have you taken a walk down memory lane after recently thumbing through a family photo album? 

THERE IT IS!

The Photo that has haunted you for the last 10-15 years.  Your hair.  Your clothes.… what were your parents thinking?  Or even worse, what were YOU thinking?  No wonder you had a bad attitude (and quite possibly no friends) and it was all captured on film.    Well now you can turn your childhood pain into profit by submitting your most awkward family and/or childhood photo for a chance at a Do Over.

Here’s the deal:

1.  Submit any of your awkward family photos to us for consideration of the grand prize – submit a photo which has and will continue to generate laughter.

2.   Lindy and I will vote on our top 3 favorite photos and will post those.  Once the top three are chosen you will have a chance to vote for your favorite.  The winner (the photo that’s most uncomfortable for you but gives everyone else endless laughter at your expense) will receive a free session and 16×20 print ~ a $250 value! 

Here are the specifics:

• Submit photos via e-mail (info@whitelinenphotography.com) or mail (e-mail us for an address).  Most of you will have only the 4×6 or wall portrait, no digital. If that’s the case just snap a picture with your camera and send it to us.
• There is no limit to how many photos you can submit
• Photos must be submitted by 3/31/10. 
• Top three photos will be posted by 4/5/10.    You and your friends will have a chance to vote on your favorite photo until 4/15/10. 
• Winner must redeem their prize by 12/1/10.

 Judges’ biases may include mullets, frizzy perms, mall bangs, plaid pants, or perhaps the appearance that an argument may have broken out in the car on the way to the photo session.

This one isn’t an “old” photo but it certainly is awkward…. And I laugh hysterically every time I see it.

Here is 3 month old sweet baby Finn! I had the priveledge of photographing Finn as a newborn back in November of 2009; he didn’t want to do naked baby photos then and didn’t want much to do with it this time around either.  I’ve seen Finn on FB and he’s an incredibly happy smiley baby – but notsomuch when there’s a great big black camera around :).  We did get some nice images, usually he was smiling at his singing mailbox.  He was also most content when Mom was holding him, it was his favorite place to be.  I always have favorite memories from sessions – my favorite memories from this one were his Mama and Grandmama singing to him.  Grandma even sang/read  “Snuggle Puppy”  – I wanted to sit down, wrap up in a blanket, and hear more!!  So here he is…. three month old Finn.  Happy Days!
