New York or Bust!
Posted on August 19, 2010
These two little cuties were SO fun to shoot! They were game for anything and defiantly NOT camera shy! I loved it!
When talking to their mama before hand she told me that they would be moving to New York in just a few short weeks
after the shoot. They really wanted a lil “Des Moines” in the photos because she said it is where they will always call
home! I loved how they turned out! I hope you all love them too!

Check out this GORGEOUS baby girl… wow. Her name is as perfect as she is, Nyla Quinn, isn’t that totally cool?!? Nyla is the baby of one of my first engagement session couples. I’m sooooo tickled and honored to be able to photograph their precious firstborn.
I love to talk a little about my experience with each session so here goes…. Mama is absolutely GORGEOUS!! She was a week overdue and in looking at her baby shower pics the family shared with me you never would have known it. That’s not fair!!! Ok, so it is – she probably took awesome care of herself, or she’s one of those that just rocks pregnancy. Now Daddy….wow, he is so totally and completely head over heals for Nyla. His hands were those of a longtime Daddy as he held her, cooed her, loved on her… and she’s only his firstborn. This guy was totally born to be a Dad. I wish they would’ve let me capture pics of them with sweet Nyla… maybe next time??? (hint hint).
Thanks for looking, enjoy!

Gotta share the story of this one – this blanket is a baby blanket Nyla’s great grandmother started 12 years ago but never finished. After her death 4 years ago the family found the square of blanket, needles, and matching yarn together deep in a closet. At the time of Nyla’s conception the blanket was brought back out and a family friend found to finish it. So the blanket in this precious picture was started by Nyla’s great grandmother even before she was born, and finished by loving family friends. What an amazing legacy!

One of my favorite pics from the session – Nyla in Daddy’s gentle hands.

We caught a newborn smile!! Check out that bottom image!
