More twins, I love twins!!!
Posted on November 10, 2010
Happy Wednesday everyone!
I’ve gotten to photograph twins a few times, I love twins! There is something about them that’s captivating, and I’m not talking about similarities (or differences for that matter) in their appearance. During the short time I’m with them twins seem to have pretty similar personalities, even if they don’t look much alike. They seem to have an unspoken plan to how they will interact with me and each other during the session, something predetermined and …. silly! These two were full of energy with awesomely laid back parents, a fun recipe for the session. All four of them had a great sense of humor with each other and with me (even when I called Dad “Steve” during one of the poses… Steve?? Who is Steve? I don’t personally know a Steve!”
When Mom and I talked during the pre-session phone call its like we were old friends. We bonded quickly over stories of our children and how they make us better people every single day. We are both in awe and at the same time saddened a bit by the sprouting maturity of our growing children. If only we could freeze time and keep them this way, if even for a little while. Although we can’t mess with Mother Nature at least we can freeze time in photographs. Although I can’t be certain I think X and I tried to thwart my plans for the perfect portrait, but little do they know its the imperfections that make them perfect, just the way they are.
Enjoy!

Southern Family
Posted on November 4, 2010
Hey everybody! I love these photos! Ok I’m biased I love all my photos but this session came together perfectly. The family was dressed fantastically coordinated but not (totally) matching in blues. LOVEDLOVEDLOVED little sister’s dress and tender sweet hat. These children were so wonderfully behaved, it was like a fairytale. Not only that look at those eyes (anyone who reads our blog regularly knows I am a total sucker for the eyes… ). The boys were buds, so cool too see in such young men. Little sis was breathtaking; she had that light thin hair that blows beautifully in the wind, “magical hair” as Lindy and I call it. I think I could have photographed these kids for hours… and we did for quite awhile, mom and dad were very patient :)
As I sit at my computer listening to the cold wind outside my window I want to go back to the day of these photos, to the magical time of year when the sun shines yellow and hazy through the branches, where the soft weeds and flowers are backlit by the sun at just the perfect time of day, where there are a few small flying things buzzing around but not so many that you feel like you have to take cover indoors, where the tall green grass is still holding treasures in it’s depth for young and old kids to discover. But alas, I’ll have to wait until about 9 months from this blustery day…
Enjoy!
