Hello and Happy 2011! Wow, feels weird to say that….

Blogging late again :) this was a fall session, a totally FUN one!!!  J. is the mom of one of my daughter’s old preschool friends and a fellow photographer.  Not only did we have fun during the session, J and I have been having fun talking all things photography and parenting.  Its so nice to have someone to talk to about both of  my passions!

So y’all know how I love to talk memories from sessions… no exception here! My favorite was the obstacle course!  So here’s the background… when we first started photographing it was apparent right away the close bond between these brothers.  Older brother W. was so amazingly kind and gentle with little brother H., it totally blew me away.  You’d think most boys at this age would be wrestling and fighting and competing, but not them.  (ok maybe they do at home… so they probably do at home… :) )   Because of what I saw in them I wanted to capture that in our images, thus the obstacle course.  Well I didn’t plan for H. to want me in on the game, too! After a few shots all three of us were running through the tall grass, winding around trees, jumping over wooden boxes, and trying to be the first to reach “home”.  It was awesome and must have been something to see from a distance :)

And then the quiet time… W. pulls out his guitar and starts playing while H. naturally migrates towards some toys I had set out.  I asked W. to sit and play in that spot, but  little brother just naturally migrated toward him and got lost in thought playing with old red planes and tractors.  I could have just watched them forever, in their own little world communicating like that, but not even speaking.  Wow, rendered me speechless.

It was really hard to pick favorites from the session, I could have posted all of them. In the end, as always, I chose my favorites from the session.

Enjoy!
