Aidan & Alexander

Posted on September 22, 2011

Hello everyone! Autumn is near… I love that word, “Autumn”.  Claire was reading a book tonight (Junie B. Jones and A Little Monkey Business) and she stumbled on that word. I was falling asleep while she was reading (one of the benefits to your child learning to read, aside from the many educational and intellectual and much more important benefits of course) and she nudged me in the back to help her (cause I was listening, really I was) and the word was “Autumn”.  Made me think about the cool weather and changing leaves and how I love to explore all of that with my girls this time of year.

This is Aidan and Alexander – you’ve seen them before, lots of times!  These boys smile more than any children I’ve ever met (just like Lindy’s Milo!)  I am in awe of their mother, too.  Do you have mothers that you look up to?  Mothers who, when in the middle of the store and their child totally and completely loses it and you think to yourself  “Ok here it comes, this patient and kind mother whom always speaks calmly to their kids will finally explode.  Let’s see what that looks like….” and you stand back and watch and wait.  Ok not really cause you don’t want to look like you are staring you just walk away and act like the towels next to you are exactly the ones you’ve been looking for for ages.  So you wait… and it never comes. The rising tone and pitch of the voice, kid friendly explitive, threats and/or bribes… Nope, not with Aidan and Alexander’s mama. She grasps their arms gently and asks them to face forward and look her in the eye, she then politely and respectfully reminds them of the appropriate way to behave.  Amazingly the child sits back down (cause they were about to topple out of their cart standing up as they were) and off you go, shopping, like normal.  What!?!  How does she do that?  Well T. does, time and time again.  She’s amazing… its no wonder these kids are always smiling!

This was Alexander’s first year photo session with some photos of big brother as well.  Love these boys!
