Sigh……

Im sure everyone has been wondering where the heck we have disappeared to. Holidays is the busiest time for every photographer out there. We are getting lots of totally awesome Christmas gifts and holiday cards ready for our amazing clients. We pinky promise to get back to our normal blogging at the beginning of the new year. This is year number two that I swore I was going to get my holiday cards done and sent out before xmas and here I sit typing this with nothing even in the works. Hoping to possibly send out a New Years Card. Next year I swear I am starting my holiday card in August! This is a plumber with leaky pipes/hairdresser with roots situation! Clients come first! :)

I am in the process of putting together some amazing xmas presents for my family of images I have taken through out the year. I ran across this image and it totally made me pause..I am sooooo missing the outdoor adventures with my littles. I find it is the days that I spend out in the backyard playing in the grass with my kids that are my most cherished memories. I love that a simple image like this gives me all those warm fuzzy feelings from that day. I can smell her sunblock and hear her giggle from the little caterpillar tickling her as he moves up her arm.

Hurry back summer!

Family

Posted on December 7, 2011

My family that is.  This summer I had the opportunity to photograph my mom’s brothers and sisters. They have a reunion each year and this year it was in Des Moines so I was lucky enough to hang with them one evening and during our session together.  I love the stories they tell, I’ve heard them all before but I could hear them over and over and over again, especially when told enthusiastically by the narrator and with the gales of laughter in response.  I have so many memories with these folks, they’ve given me so many gifts over the years and I’m not talking about the materials ones. The memories I have of growing up with them are worth more than any material gift ever given.  PS.  That’s my mama on the far right – love ya so Mom!!
