I drive by my photo submission often, as im sure most of my neighbors consider this fallen, skeleton of a barn an eye sore. I have always considered it kind of beautiful sitting up on the hill all alone. When I went to snap this photo this week I decided to take my kids down the street a little farther to see the cow farm. We got out to go say hello and they all came over to check us out. My daughter said “look mom, they want their picture taken too”. So I included the cows as well.

Ryan is a crazy Hawkeye fan – thus the sports photos, WLP style!

I have really been trying to make it a habit to jump in photos with my family ever since hearing a heartbreaking story last year while at a photo conference with Denise. What I took away from the story was that if something should happen to me, my kids will be left with no pictures of us together and that is a VERY selfish act on my part. So I’m doing something about it!

I had been planning all week on how I was going to do this challenge and came up with some great ideas (which I will be saving for my clients) but Wednesday afternoon after my son got up from his nap we were all just being silly on my bed together and my camera was near by so I thought, “why not?” and propped it up on a book. I must say that 5 years ago I would have been absolutely horrified posting an image of myself with no makeup on and my hair not done but this is my life at the moment. If I have time for a daily shower and a swipe of mascara, I chalk it up to a good day. Anyways……….this is us! The real us!
